Fall Ball Registration Is Now Open During fall ball, players typically play at the level they will during the 2017 spring season. For instance, a farm leaguer just turning 8 will play farm fall ball, but a player just turning 11 would play senior little league in the fall. This guideline allows players to get a jump on the level of play as they prepare for the next regular season. Fall Ball is a teaching season intended to allow children who want to play in the fall the opportunity to do so while keeping the skills they learned in the past sharp. It allows players who are moving up to get a taste of play they will experience at the next level in the spring. It is laid-back at most levels. Each team plays roughly two games per week or weekend. At times, opponents may have lighted fields and host BHAA teams for weeknight games. Questions regarding fall ball can be directed to the Fall Ball Coordinator: Chrissy Daeschner Register online now here Registration forms can also be downloaded and mailed to: BHAA, PO Box 100172, Pittsburgh, PA 15233 Download form here Payment is due with registration - NO EXCEPTIONS! WASH # 1 Team visited the Junior Pirates on field #6. It was obvious from the first inning that this young Team could not hang with this more experienced Pirate group. The final score was 17-2 Pirates with the game ending in 4 innings. The majority of the runs the Pirates scored came from a lot of walks. Highlights were some RBI hitting from Amere Brown, Peyton C, Chris Kimble, and first year Junior Owen Eckert. Owen is a Team Favorite, and smashed a double over the right center fielders head driving in 3 runs. That hit brought ALL of his Teammates to there feet and was impressive enough to have him awarded the GAME BALL........Owen is a hard worker and a good listener.. One of my favorite Game BALLS ever given! 05/17 - Crush 27 | Southside 1 - The Crush opened their season with a 27 -1 victory over Southside. Every girl had at least 2 base hits and scored a run. 05/25 - Pony AA 16 | Brad Mar Pine 12 - Scorebook keepers were busy at John Merry on Wednesday as BHAA Pony AA and Brad Mar Pine combined for 28 runs. Pony AA eventually won the offensive battle 16-12 in six innings. The two teams combined for 24 hits in the game. The game was back-and-forth heading into the third, with seven lead changes. BHAA took the lead in the third inning and held on for the victory. An error scored Aidan Knupsky and gave BHAA the lead for good. Zach Reskovac racked up four RBI on two hits for BHAA. He singled in the second and fifth innings. Brad Mar Pine jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. BHAA brought home one run in the first inning, and matched that run total in the sixth. In the first, Pony AA scored on a groundout by Robert Jones, scoring Jordan Albright. BHAA Pony AA never surrendered the lead after the third inning. The runs piled on thanks to a groundout by Alex Dietrich and three singles. After pushing across two runs in the top of the fourth, Brad Mar Pine faced just a 10-9 deficit. But, TJ Thompson induced a strikeout to end the inning. BHAA Pony AA survived Brad Mar Pine's surge and put up two runs of its own in the fourth, scoreing on a walk by Chaz Smith and an error. Pony AA tacked on another three runs in the fifth. Dietrich kicked things off with a single, plating Zach Beckman. That was followed up by Reskovac's single, bringing home Thompson and Dietrich. Three runs in the top of the sixth helped Brad Mar Pine close its deficit to 15-12, but it wasn't enough. 06/07 - Crush 24 | Southside 2 - The CRUSH travelled to Southside on Tuesday and came away with a 24 - 2 victory. The top 4 girls in the lineup, Sammy Palmieri, Haley Brady, Brittany Klein and Jai Moore were a combined 14 for 16, with 15 runs scored and 11 rbi's. Ally Platt pitched a great game allowing only 3 hits and 0 walks. Platt also knocked in 5 runs. 06/08 - Crush 10 | Hazelwood 9 - On Wednesday, the CRUSH opened their home schedule with an extra-inning, 10 - 9 victory over Hazelwood. The heroes of the game were Taylor Dunbar and Kaileah Sloan. Dunbar scored from first base on Sloan's infield single when the ball was thrown down the right field line. Dunbar reached base all 4 at bats with 2 hits and 2 walks.
